Tanteo was born from a simple idea—great tequila deserves real ingredients. We craft ours using 100% blue weber agave, slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens and distilled with care to create our smooth, higher-proof Blanco. But we don’t stop there—our one-of-a-kind maceration process infuses fresh, hand-cut peppers for bold, balanced spice in every sip. No artificial flavors, no shortcuts—just real tequila, made for the perfect spicy margarita.

Our blue weber agave is cultivated in the fertile soils of Jalisco’s Cienega region, an area known for its agricultural diversity, where everything from blue agave to berries and citrus thrives. These rich farmlands create the perfect environment for bold, complex flavors—laying the foundation for every bottle of Tanteo.

We honor tradition with every batch. Our hand-harvested agaves are slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens, a time-tested method that brings out deep, caramelized flavors while preserving the agave’s natural sweetness. This slow and even cooking process ensures a rich, complex foundation for our tequila—because great flavor takes time.

Fermentation & Distillation

Patience and precision make all the difference. After slow-roasting, our agaves are crushed to extract their rich, sweet juice, which is then fermented with a blend of wild yeast and Tanteo’s proprietary yeast, transforming it into a low-alcohol mosto.  After double distillation, our tequila reaches 110 proof, the starting point for everything we do—whether it’s used to create our real pepper macerates for Tanteo’s infusions or carefully refined to 85 proof for our smooth, crisp Blanco Tequila.

We locally source our Jalapeño, Habanero, and Chipotle peppers from trusted growers across Mexico, ensuring the freshest ingredients for our infusions. Once they arrive at the distillery, every pepper is hand-sorted and carefully processed, using a precise chopping method that balances bold heat with fresh, vibrant flavor—so every sip delivers the perfect kick without overwhelming your margarita.

This is where the magic happens. Using our one-of-a-kind maceration process, we infuse our tequila with macerates from hand-cut fresh peppers, extracting bold, natural flavor—nothing artificial, just real ingredients. Once the infusion reaches its peak, each batch is expertly blended and tasted to ensure consistency, delivering just the right amount of heat, freshness, and smooth agave character in every bottle.
